I have gotten a few emails regarding the last 'podcast' that was put up on iTunes. I'm so sorry it wasn't a 'real' one.
Here's the thing.
As many of you know, I run many sites including this one. Some better, some less so. All are done on my own money and time. One I run is "Sewing Mamas". This is a community dedicated to people who sew for primarily their family, and primarily clothing. While we have (three!!!) men who post, there are about 13,000 women with 5000 'frequent posters'. We had a contest, for anyone who created a pattern and sent it in along with instructions. These patterns (and many many more) are available on SewingMamas for free. Sort of like BurdaStyle; but we were first (lol) and they have The $ewing Industry (Burda and Esty) behind them, god love 'em. Hey, you know I love free so there's no bad feelings -- I have an etsy store and BurdaStyle profile (materialmama) .
This was recorded on January 9th, at about 6:00 pm. Please forgive the messy kitchen in the back ground and the insane children. In my defense, I JUST got home from HomeGoods and Trader Joes because a very nice friend was watching the girls and I had an hour on my own. I picked them up and they are like little tops spinning all over the place. The kitchen counters are messy because of the stuff I just brought in.
Honestly? I've been waiting to do this until I had a haircut, and my kitchen was clean so I could video tape it. Oh well. Best laid plans. I look a fright so I audio taped it.
I thought "Hey I need to get this DONE. Why not now?"
You'll hear my little girls 'chatting'. Sunshine does yell at the end so be careful with your speakers.
So here you go. Typical night. You can listen here for the winners. It's about ten minutes long. I used my podcast space to host the file so it will show up in my podcast as well. I'm hoping to podcast again next week:
You'll need speakers, or wait until tomorrow
I thought the 'suspense' would be fun for some. Also, this is a typical night at my house, except the teenager isn't asking to use the computer and fretting that she's missing out on Facebook.
If you want to trade with each other, feel free. The banner is transferable, if you don't have a shop or charity you want to promote in a banner ad. You can sell it in the boutique or another site or ebay, it's worth $85.00.
If you can't stand it, here are the winners. I'll pm you in just a moment!
$50 at Sewzanne's
Sewing Mamas 5 year Sponsorship
One year Banner ad
THANK you everyone! All who entered will get some sort of prize, so you should all PM me your address
I had to use my podcasting account to host the .mp3 of the prize drawing. But it reminded me to get podcasting again, so that was good. Also that I need more contests here. My new resolution for 09 -- one podcast a month, and multiple posts per week.
