I think I'm out of the woods on the strep, and hoping to start recording again in February. I'm so sorry for all the time off! I lost my blogging and sewing mojo here for a while and I'd like to thank everybody who asked about me and for anybody still checking in on my sad little blog. It was a combination of recourrant strep infection, my site being hacked and my sewing machines all hitting the skids.
While I'm recording, you can check out this stuff or post some of your own fun finds. I have been working on these things. I'll post pictures as the computer allows. I'm still using that Janome, and hoping to get one that I can free stitch quilt with. I love having a machine that works! I've gone through so many and this entry level one is a peach!
A # tee shirt for Mary, she's turning 9 tomorrow! Last year I didn't make her an 8, and she was so sad. So I got ahead of the ball this time and made it. Easy peasy -- Just find a font you like, print it out at about 350 or 400 dpi. Then cut it out, trace it out on iron on fabric or fabric with stitch wichery ironed on the back. Iron on the Number, then stitch over it. Just like any applique, but more fun for the kids!
I'm also making her doll quilts for her American Girl dolls -- she has two and her little sister has two. They play with them SO much! Yay! I found a cute pattern on Sew Mama Sew.
Some blogs I've been following whilst sick or able to sit up:
